Elm Oyster Mushroom

Physical Appearance

  • Cap: White to light fawn, convex when young, becoming flatter with age. The edges may curl slightly downward.
  • Gills: White to light cream, running partially down the stem but not as deeply as true oyster mushrooms.
  • Stem: Thick, sturdy, and centrally attached (unlike true oyster mushrooms, which often have an off-center stem).
  • Spore Print: White to pale lilac.

Taste & Texture

  • Mild, slightly nutty, and more delicate than regular oyster mushrooms.
  • Savoury and Slightly Sweet
  • Soft edible stem & Tender bite
